Check Me Out In The Pay Per Click Mindmeld

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment May 18 4

Today I’m thrilled today to announce an exciting project I’m involved in, The Pay Per Click Mindmeld. The idea is simple, yet extremely powerful. The PPC Mindmeld hand selected the top 60 experts in the pay per click field (I’m one of them). Then, they had each expert record a 1-2 minute soundbite with their top PPC tips (specifically, what makes or breaks a successful PPC campaign). The result: An amazing mp3 file with 60 pay per click experts each sharing their favorite PPC tips.

Pay Per Click Mindmeld

The end product is a truly invaluable resource and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Not only am I thrilled to be personally involved in such an extraordinary project, but I’m excited about the tips I personally took away from the other speakers. The best part of it all: The Pay Per Click Mindmeld is 100% free. All you have to do is enter your email address and then you will be emailed a link to download the mp3 file and listen for yourself.

Now, The PPC Mindmeld officially launches soon (Thursday). However, I have a special link exclusively for PPC Ian readers. If you Click This Pay Per Click Mindmeld Link, you get exclusive pre-release access to the Mindmeld and can download the file right away. Once you download the file, you can skip directly to my soundbite by going to 1:35:30. That said, I really encourage you to listen to the entire project because the tips from all the speakers are truly amazing!

A closing tip from my friend running the Pay Per Click Mindmeld: There will be a tweet-to-win iPad 3 (due out in September) contest. It’s really easy: Just download the PPC Mindmeld. Then, click the twitter button on the Pay Per Click Mindmeld homepage. Once you tweet, you are entered to win – it’s that easy! I hope you enjoy my tips and all the tips in this great project.

Link Building By Being Social

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Feb 28 8

PPC Ian has been all over the press lately. In fact, I’ve been featured on three high profile blogs within the last week. I’ll get into the specific press mentions next, but first want to highlight my link building strategy. I’m a huge fan of this particular link building strategy because it’s a passive one. And, at the end of the day, there’s a real premium on my time (and I’m sure yours as well) so anything that can happen passively for me is truly rewarding.

My Passive Link Building Strategy

ZK's Web Traffic ROI

Basically, I’ve gone to all of the big online marketing blogs and have become personal friends with the bloggers. I’ve done this by sending direct emails to these high profile bloggers and also via my blog commentating strategy. As a result of being social, I have become part of the community. Because I’m part of the community and all these online marketing bloggers know me on a personal level, they’re happy to link back to me when I post something particularly noteworthy.

This is the real reason that Google values inbound links. They’re a measure of what others think of you and your blog. How can you get others to like you and your blog? Get out there, be social, and make friends! Want to learn more about this strategy? I recommend checking out my recent blog post about PR Driving Great SEO Results.

This Week’s Links

My 4-Hour Work Week

So, where did I get featured this week? It all started off with ZK’s Web Traffic ROI. I’m a huge fan of ZK and his blog. If you’re big on blog commentating like myself, there’s no doubt that you’ve run into ZK. He’s an absolute expert online marketer and one of the top commentators on the Internet. ZK discovered my recent series of six free videos from my Stanford GSB presentation and wrote a post all about my videos. (As a side note, you can view my free videos in the following posts: videos 1 and 2, videos 3 and 4, videos 5 and 6).

Now, just being featured on ZK’s Web Traffic ROI was a huge win on its own. However, my success did not stop there. Because I’m well connected on Facebook and posted a link to ZK’s post, my friend Owen Frager from The Frager Factor picked up and recapped ZK’s post on his own blog. This is a true honor, Owen is a true heavy hitter when it comes to online marketing and blogging. After all, his blog is one of the largest on the Internet.

My third success happened today! My friend Eric from My 4 Hour Workweek wrote a truly epic blog post about 142+ ways to make money online. I highly recommend checking out this blog post, it’s going to be one of the best of 2011 in my opinion. I have become friends with Eric and comment regularly on his blog, and Eric was kind enough to mention me as one of his favorite online marketing blogs in this truly epic blog post. Now, this gets even sweeter because Eric’s blog post went truly viral and made the first page of Delicious today. Cool stuff! An interesting fact: Eric won the blog commenting contest I ran on PPC Ian a while back and I reviewed his blog since he was one of the winners!

I Made It To The Affiliate Top 50

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Feb 2 15

I just learned earlier today that I made it to the Affiliate Top 50. What’s the Affiliate Top 50? It’s an exciting list of the top 50 blogs on the Internet about affiliate marketing and making money online. This list includes the really big names in affiliate marketing such as Shoemoney and John Chow. (As a side note, you may wish to check out my review of John Chow’s book.) It’s a true honor to be on this list (I’m #35), and I truly thank you for your support in reading my blog!

How Is The Affiliate Top 50 Calculated?

So how is the Affiliate Top 50 determined? This list looks at a variety of factors including your Google page rank, Yahoo site explorer inbound links, and Alexa score. Then, it puts these factors into an algorithm and calculates an overall score for each blog. That overall score then determines the order of the list.

As you may know, Google recently updated page rank. My page rank is now 4 and I’m sure this factor certainly helped placing PPC Ian on the list. One thing I also noticed is my Alexa score has room for further improvement (at 208,255). I’m expecting an improvement over time as more people visit my blog. Moreover, I’m considering placing an Alexa badge on my blog, something that would certainly improve my Alexa score, but not sure yet because I also like my clean blog design.

I’m super excited about my inclusion in the Affiliate Top 50. It’s not only an honor, but it’s also great PR. PPC Ian has been getting some great PR lately and I’m a big believer in PR driving great SEO results. Thanks everyone for your support!

How PR Can Drive Great SEO Results

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Jan 11 14

When it comes to building the SEO ranking of PPC Ian, I’ve been working really hard on multiple fronts. Some of my strategies include great on-page SEO, tons of in-depth blog posts, link building by getting on the blogrolls of my friends, and link building via article marketing. However, there’s one specific strategy that’s added a disproportional amount of value that I’d like to discuss today: Making a concentrated effort on PR. That’s right, I’ve established great relationships with the online marketing community. These relationships have turned into interviews and guest reviews that have provided great exposure (and inbound links) to PPC Ian.

PPC Ian In The Press

D3so

I’ve had success over the last few months with some great PPC Ian reviews and interviews including: D3so and Dino Vedo. Excitingly, I also just interviewed Dino Vedo myself.

Also, if you’ve been reading PPC Ian for a long time, you may also know that I got featured on some other really big blogs: John Chow, Jonathan Volk, Teen Domainer, and ZK’s Web Traffic ROI.

The Two Key Benefits of The PR SEO Strategy

First and foremost, big PR hits drive substantial traffic and new readers. Each time I got featured on one of the blogs above, my RSS subscribers and eBook subscribers grew considerably. Moreover, I started getting comments from new people! In short, an strong mention on a big blog (within your industry) will drive great results. It’s said that blogs can drive even better quality traffic than paid search. It makes sense: Loyal readers will trust and follow the recommendations of bloggers.

Second, big PR hits drive link juice. We all know how important inbound links are when it comes to SEO and your blog’s ranking within search engines. When you get interviewed or reviewed on a major blog, the links within the posts add a lot of value. They are in-context links that are trusted by search engines. It makes perfect sense to me: Search engines trust sites that are well respected in their niche. How do you prove to search engines that you’re part of the community? You get quality in-context links from high profile sites in your niche.

So, How Do You Get Featured On Major Blogs?

So, you’re convinced and want to make PR a part of your personal SEO strategy. Great choice! When it comes to getting featured on top blogs, I have a few suggestions. First and foremost, you’ll want to start commenting on major blogs, and become a top commentator. You’ll want to read about my blog commenting strategy.

Second, I recommend writing great, quality posts on your blog that make others look good. When you promote products and blogs you believe in, it will often come back to you in the form of a positive review. Third, I recommend doing reciprocal guest interviews. Basically, you interview another blogger and they interview you too! It’s an easy and effective way for both of you to increase your PR and SEO. Last, I recommend building out an incredible network by going to conferences in your industry. The stronger your offline, in-person network, the more opportunities you will have to get featured online!

PPC Ian Featured On MorganLinton.com!

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Jul 4 5

Hey Everyone,
Happy 4th of July! Just a week after getting featured on ZK’s Blog, I was featured on MorganLinton.com today! I couldn’t be more excited. As you may know, I’m a huge fan of domains and domaining. In my 2010 goals, I include several goals around domaining – both learning more about the industry and building out my personal portfolio of domains. I’ve even written a few articles about domain names such as my guide to buying domains on Sedo.

Morgan Linton – A Leader In The Domain Industry

Morgan Linton

So, why am I talking about domains and who is this Morgan Linton guy? Easy! In short, Morgan Linton is one of the top leaders in the domain industry. In my opinion, Morgan is the top educator in the domain industry.

Morgan runs an amazing blog about domaining called MorganLinton.com. I’m honestly addicted to his blog and have been a frequent commentor for quite some time, you must check it out! Additionally, Morgan regularly interviews top leaders in the domaining industry via his television show Domainvestors Television. Domainvestors Television truly takes things to the next level, the production quality of Morgan’s videos astounds me. Morgan also works with clients via his company Linton Investments. On top of all of this, Morgan holds a regular day job that he absolutely loves, something that I totally respect.

I had the pleasure of meeting Morgan at TRAFFIC Las Vegas. Please make sure to check out my review on MorganLinton.com.

All the best,
PPC Ian (Ian Lopuch)

PS – Two more exciting updates: I’ll be reviewing the three winners of my blog commenting contest in my next post. Also, I just finished a 12 page whitepaper that I’ll be sharing with you shortly, one that I couldn’t be more excited about.

PPC Ian Featured On ZK’s Blog

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Jun 28 5

Hey Everyone,
It’s another exciting day in the life of PPC Ian. I’m honored to be featured on ZK’s Web Traffic ROI today! For those of you that don’t know, ZK is probably the most seasoned blog commentor on the Internet. He runs one of the top online marketing blogs on the Internet, one which I frequent all the time. In short, I respect ZK quite a bit and am honored to be featured on his blog! Please make sure to check out ZK’s review of PPC Ian today!

PPC Ian In The Press

I’m especially excited about this review because it’s another example of PPC Ian’s success in the press. As you may recall, I was also featured on Jonathan Volk, John Chow, and Teen Domainer. This stuff is so much fun!

One More Way To Win My Blog Commenting Contest

ZK's Web Traffic ROI

As you may know, I’m running a really cool blog commenting contest right now. (It’s really fitting that I mention my contest because ZK is the best commentor on the Internet in my opinion!) The top three commentors will receive free reviews on PPC Ian! The contest has been incredibly exciting so far (tons of thought provoking comments) and will end in less than two days. However, there still is time! To help everyone in these last few days, I’m offering double credit (this counts as two comments) for commenting on PPC Ian’s Review on ZK’s Web Traffic ROI.

Thanks again everyone for your support! It means the world to me!
All the best,
PPC Ian (Ian Lopuch)

PS – I just launced PPC Ian’s Facebook Fan Page. I have not even linked to it from my blog yet, but have already received a great response. I’m looking forward to growing my Facebook Fan Page over time and encourage you to fan me!

PPC Ian Featured On Teen Domainer

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Mar 11 1

Hey Everyone,
Today’s another exciting day! Shortly after getting interviewed by Jonathan Volk and getting featured on John Chow, today I’m featured on Teen Domainer. For those of you that don’t know, Teen Domainer is one of the best domaining blogs on the Internet!

Guest Post

As you may know from my 2010 goals, domaining is a focus for me this year. Specifically, I wanted to develop at least six domain names and attend at least one major domaining conference. I’m excited to announce that I recently crossed both of these off my list. I have six new 5-page minisites live and also attended T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Las Vegas back in January. I’m really excited that I’ve learned so much and now feel like an advanced domainer (a great compliment to my pay per click background).

One thing that has really surprised me is the fact that the pay per click world knows very little about domaining. Similarly, I have found that the domaining world has a lot to learn about pay per click. It makes perfect sense to me: Both subjects are extremely complex. If you master just one of them, you definitely have my respect. However, I truly see huge value in mastering both. There are great synergies in leveraging domain strategies in pay per click and vice versa. To that end, I decided to focus on pay per click search engine marketing strategies for domainers in my guest article on Teen Domainer.

Please check out my guest article on Teen Domainer and let me know what you think! I wanted to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Brian from Teen Domainer for featuring my guest post. It’s a true honor to be featured on such a prestigious and awesome blog, one of my personal favorites!

Sincerely,
PPC Ian (Ian Lopuch)

PPC Ian Featured On John Chow!

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Feb 24 12

Hello Everyone,
Today’s a HUGE day for me! Not long after launching my first video on PPC Ian (which is an accomplishment in its own right), I got featured on John Chow! For those of you that don’t know, John Chow is one of the most successful Internet marketers in the world and operates one of the top blogs on the Internet! That’s right: PPC Ian is featured on one of the Internet’s largest blogs!

Top of Mountain Success

I highly recommend checking out John Chow’s review of PPC Ian. It’s a very positive review and truly makes me feel good about what I’m trying to accomplish here at PPCIan.com: Empowering and educating pay per click professionals. Moreover, it was really cool to learn that my path crossed John’s a few years ago when I was working at NexTag, it’s such a small world (especially in this industry).

I want to take this moment to thank YOU, my loyal readers. You guys are the reason that I work so hard on my blog and I sincerely appreciate your support. If there’s anything I can do to help out in your online marketing career, please don’t hesitate to contact me and please make sure to check out John Chow’s PPC Ian Review!
Sincerely,
PPC Ian (Ian Lopuch)

PPC Ian Interviewed By Jonathan Volk

By PPC Ian Leave a Comment Jan 16 8

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to point out a large milestone in my career: Super affiliate Jonathan Volk interviewed me yesterday! Please make sure to visit Jonathan Volk’s blog and read PPC Ian’s interview. I worked very hard on the interview and it really means a lot to me as someone who has been glued to Jonathan’s blog for a while. For those of you that are new to Jonathan Volk, he is one of the most celebrated affiliate marketers on the Internet and has an extremely well known and useful affiliate marketing blog. As a new blogger, it truly means a lot to me that I am featured on this blog. It is an honor and a milestone in my career.

Results

While we’re on the topic of milestones, I’d also like to celebrate the fact that I now have 50 recommendations on LinkedIn. This is a long-standing goal that I set for myself a while back, one that took countless late nights to achieve. As you may already know I’m a huge proponent of LinkedIn as a great way to build you career in PPC. I even wrote a huge post all about my PPC LinkedIn strategies. I truly encourage you to apply these strategies to your own LinkedIn, you will start getting pay per click search engine marketing job offers daily.

My last milestone for today: I reached my 30th post with my request that all online marketing professionals please help Haiti. If you’ve been around here a while, you know my posts are typically really long (at least 1,000 words) so it’s quite fulfilling to hit the 30 milestone. I’m looking forward to next focusing on the goal of hitting 100 posts!

What milestones have you set for yourself? I would truly love to hear them! I always like to keep raising the bar and enjoy setting milestones (another example being my 2010 goals). In my opinion, having concrete goals, both professionally in your PPC career and personally, is a surefire way to achieve success in life.

Thanks again for your support and please check out my interview with Jonathan Volk!
Sincerely,
PPC Ian
